OSL Services The Office of Student Life provides numerous services to facilitate and enrich the lives of Georgetown Law students.
The Office of Student Life regularly offers discounted tickets to theatres, sporting events and movies. Examples include tickets to events at the Kennedy Center, the Shakespeare Theatre, the Arena Stage, the National Theatre, the Warner Theatre, Camden Yards, and the Verizon Center as well as discounted movie tickets to local AMC & Regal Cinemas. Stop by McDonough Room 171 to find out about current discount ticket opportunities. While attending school in Washington, D.C., law students should try to attend at least one oral argument session of the United States Supreme Court. The Office of Student Life maintains limited reserved seating at these sessions for Georgetown Law students. Sign-ups begin on the first day of classes during the fall semester. Limited seating for Supreme Court sessions is also available to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. OSL Broadcast Email The OSL Broadcast email is a compilation of student organization events for the upcoming week designed to let students know of the happenings at the law center while cutting down on email clutter. Copies of the latest OSL Broadcast as well as archives for past Broadcasts are available here. If your student organization would like to advertise an upcoming event, please send a short blurb or a copy of the event's flyer to oslbroadcast@law.georgetown.edu by Monday, noon. The flyers are then compiled into a mass information email that is sent to the entire Law Center campus on Tuesdays. A courtesy fax machine for student use is available at the Office of Student Life in McDonough Room 170. The Law Center has a "parents / nursing Moms" room available. The room is private and includes a small refrigerator. If you are interested in using this space, please check out a key from the Office of Student Life, Room 170. Each Wednesday, from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. a senior administrator will be available to chat, answer questions or just hear your concerns. Look for the dean or director at a table in the Market Cafe. Of course you can schedule an appointment with an administrator any time you like, but this is a way in which simple questions or burning issues can be addressed quickly. Free cookies for stopping by! The Office of Student Life brings together entering first year students with second and third year students in a mentoring program during the first semester. These Peer Advisors participate in a training program and are assigned groups of first year students with which to share experiences on the transition to law school. If you are a 1L and are looking to contact your peer advisor, stop by McDonough 170 where the Office of Student Life would be happy to provide you with that information. If you are an upperclass student and wish to apply for a Peer Advisor position, fill out the application and bring your completed form to McDonough 170 or send it as an email attachment to studentaffairs@law.georgetown.edu.
