Student Organizations

The Office of Student Affairs coordinates the activities of approximately fifty student organizations that represent a wide range of academic, political, ethnic, religious, community service, and artistic interests. Student Bar Association

The student government of the Law Center, of which all students are voting members who elect the officers and delegates annually is responsible for funding student organizations and articulating student concerns. 662-9268

Advances legal scholarship on issues related to HIV/AIDS.

Alternative Dispute Resolution Society (ADR)

Opportunities to practice the arts of negotiation, mediation and arbitration.

American Bar Association

Facilitates communication between the Law Center community and the national American Bar Association.

American Constitution Society (ACS)

The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy, Georgetown Law Chapter is dedicated to restoring the fundamental principles of respect for human dignity, protection of individual rights and liberties, genuine equality, and access to justice to their rightful-- and traditionally central-- place in American Law.

American-Japanese Law Students Alliance (AJLSA)

Promotes greater visibility and understanding of American-Japanese students as well as assisting those wishing to work in Japan.

Amnesty International

Works for the release of prisoners of conscience who have neither used nor advocated violence.

Arab Law Students Association

Promotes discussion of issues of the contemproary Arab world, to celebrate the rich cultures of the Arab World, and to familiarize the GULC community with Arab society.

Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA)

Advocates and promotes the needs and interests of its members.

The Bright Line Magazine

Publishes a literary magazine featuring writing by members of the community.

Caribbean Law Students Association (CLSA)

Promote unity, understanding and friendship among Caribbean and non-Caribbean students; addresses legal issues of importance to the Caribbean region.

Catholic Forum

Fosters a spirit of Catholic community and provides a forum for issues relevant to Catholicism.

China Legal Forum

Promotes Sino-U.S. undertstanding and addresses aspects of legal and economical development in China and regions of Chinese culture.

Christian Legal Society

An interdemoninational group that discusses issues common to their shared faith and experiences as prospective lawyers, as well as Bible study, fellowship and prayer.

Evening Student Association

Serves the special needs of evening students and provides seminars, social events and speakers.

Federalist Society

An organization of conservative and libertarian law students, faculty and lawyers; hosts national symposiums on issues such as federalism and judicial activism.

Global Race and Identity Project

Global Race and Identity Project draws from and extends the teachings and practice of Critical Race Theory, examining race and its intersection with different identities.

Georgetown Human Rights Action

Georgetown Human Rights Action members believe in taking action to combat de-humanizing policies, practices, and rhetoric, whether they occur in the urban centers of the United States or the rural sections of the developing world. In pursuit of this goal, we organize advocacy campaigns, educational events, fact-finding missions, and other forms of direct action. We strive to give a voice to the unheard, and put a face on the unseen victims of abuse world-wide.

Habitat for Humanity

Creates awareness and educates others about the problems of affordable housing, decent housing, and homelessness.

Hoya Lawya Runners

Forum for runners of all levels to participate in races. Educates members on the benefits and methods of running, as well as provides a social opportunity for individuals who have an interest in running.

Innocence Project

Assists in the investigation and aid of wrongfully convicted individuals whose innocence can be proven through the use of DNA testing.

A legal fraternity that works to create a strong bond uniting students and teachers of the Law Center with members of the Bench and Bar.

Progressive Alliance for Life (PAL)

Progressive Alliance for Life seeks life-affirming solutions to the problems of abortion, assisted suicide, human cloning, and the death penalty.

Educates the GULC community about all aspects of wine tasting including appreciation, history, health benefits, paring of wine with food, and local vineyards.

Workers' Solidarity Group

Workers' Solidarity Group (WSG) is a student organization committed to building and maintaining solidarity with campus workers. We provide English as a second language classes, and are working to form a workers' resource center which will provide legal referrals. We also work with employees to ensure workers fair pay and benefits that are in line with Georgetown's "Living Wage Policy."
